Website Two - Plain White T's

I am going to be researching Plain White T’s, who are a new and upcoming British band who were found on MySpace music.
The layout of the page follows the same conventions as a normal MySpace website, with small side headings and boxes to separate each section. This is to allow the user to navigate the page more time effiently and easier. The layout is very important as there is a lot of information on it and it still needs to be clear for the audience to read it and understand what is being said. At the top the page is empty and you have to scroll down before you see anything. But when you do all the boxes have been put in places to what is most important. Like every MySpace the profile picture, there name, date of birth ect has been put at the top. This allows us to straight away get to see who they are. Their music is placed next to this as that is what they are actually trying to promote. That’s the main point of the page. They also include tour dates and a biography of them as people, so that fans can get to them more and see them past there music. At the bottom is the chat section which again is very important because it allow’s the fans to interact with the singer and they can gain feedback from the people who will make them.
The colours used are very simple, black and white. This prevents the page from being over crowed and clear to user to see what’s there. The page is full of images to promote there music. They also use video technology on here to promote more of there music and videos. The majority of images are of the band itself and if it isn’t its merchandise to promote the band for example covers for phones, IPods, game consoles and more. Everything on this page has its purpose and nothing is on here for no reason.
The text used is rather large to make it easier and clear for the user to see without straining there eyes. Also having the writing black against a white background also helps it to stand out and be easier for the user. They all won’t to make it as easy as possible for their user because they won’t to gain fans rather then annoy them or frustrate them with a bad website.
The main aim of this MySpace page is to promote the artist and to gain a wider fan base. There is a lot for a fan to do on there. Like get information on tour dates, fins new merchandise and even win prizes to win Plain White T’s stuff. It looks professional and looks popular among other MySpace users with over 500000 friends. Hopefully our artist will become this popular J
